Erasmus+ Funded YETI project

The YETI project (Young Entrepreneurial Teachers Initiative), within the Erasmus+ programme, is an international Erasmus+ strategic partnership project, in which the University of Bielsko-Biala participates as a partner.

YETI project is a continuation of very fruitful cooperation within the PIETE project (PIETE - Partnership for Initial Entrepreneurship Teacher Education), in which UBB also participated as a partner from 2018 to 2021. The results of the project, as well as open access materials, can be accessed at https://www.entrepreneurialteachers.eu/
The leading member of the international consortium of the YETI project is the Czech Technical University in Ostrava. Apart from UBB, project members include University of Szeged (Hungary), Univations GmbH - Institute for Knowledge and Technology Transfer at Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (Germany), Pedagogical University of Tyrol (Austria), Bantani Education (Belgium) and University Industry Interaction Network (the Netherlands).

The scope of the project is to develop the entrepreneurial competence of students in teacher training. It is important to underline that entrepreneurial competence is not only synonymous with the skills necessary to run a business successfully; entrepreneurship is nowadays understood as a much broader concept, referring to soft skills and multiple life skills. According to EU directives, entrepreneurship in its broadest sense is one of 8 key competences that underpin lifelong learning. YETI project therefore aims to include this key competence into teacher education, which nowaday is present only sporadically, mainly due to misinterpretation of the term.

The objectives of teacher education already include the development of entrepreneurial competence, but the methodology and actual content are not yet well developed in many countries. YETI project is beneficial mainly because of its effective support of entrepreneurship education in the field of teacher education. With entrepreneurial minded teachers, the entrepreneurial competence of the next generation of students in teacher education is likely to increase, which will benefit society as a whole in the long run. As various universities and other institutions are involved in the project, chances are created for long-term international cooperation in the field of interdisciplinary research as well as further didactic projects. If you are interested in the YETI project or the results of the previous PIETE project, please contact Dr. Anna Wieczorek (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) from the Institute of Modern Languages, who is the coordinator of both projects at UBB.

Erasmus+ Funded e-CET Project at the University of Bielsko-Biala

The e-CET Project (e-Courses for English Teachers) is a 2-year Erasmus+ funded initiative aimed at developing language and methodological competencies of English teachers, through the implementation of e-learning courses on the Moodle Platform.

The consortium of project partners decided to develop e-courses of professional development English teachers. Four interactive modules in grammar, methodology, practical skills and literature will be designed and developed by a consortium of four partners from three countries – Aspekt Foundation and Teacher.sk from Slovakia, Ostrava University (OSU) from the Czech Republic and the University of Bielsko-Biala (ATH) from Poland.

To realise the e-CET project aims, our goal is to develop a set of open and interactive educational resources and undertake training activities. Those interested in the project outputs can visit the Moodle platform, where – soon enough – the first educational resources will be made available.

For more information, you are invited to contact the project coordinator Elwira Lewandowska, PhD (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). To find out more about the project clikc here
