Cultural differences in contacts with a foreign student

Between 27th and 29th of June 2022, the teaching and administrative staff of the University of Bielsko-Biala participated in the training "Cultural differences in contacts with a foreign student". They analyzed characteristic elements of different cultures, especially focusing on those of their social motivation elements not present in the Polish culture. The training covered such cultures as: Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, Italian, German, British, the cultures of Eastern Asia and the African and Arabic cultures.

The training was organized by the Optima Center for Development and Staff Training from Sopot, as a part of the project „University of Bielsko-Biala - your friendly space for study and intercultural integration”. The project is financed by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) and supported by the European Social Fund.

Hybrid CPD course for English teachers

From June 27th to July 1st, 2022, a hybrid CPD course for English teachers was organised at our university, as part of the e-CET project, financed by the Erasmus+ program. During the course, the teachers who decided to take part had access to the e-learning Moodle platform with educational materials created by the E-CET project team. Within each of the available modules, all participants could perform various tasks, all of which were aimed at refreshing their language and methodological competencies. The participants' performance was supervised and evaluated by a team of our specialists. The course-takers had the opportunity to test the functionality of the created platform, and soon its full version will be put into use for all teachers who feel the need to improve their knowledge and skills needed in their professional work and beyond.

Soon some workshops are to be organised at the University as well, during which it will be possible to check what our platform has to offer. We cordially invite you to participate!

More information is to be shared soon. Stay tuned!
