University of Bielsko-Biala takes all the necessary precautions to ensure a life withouth barriers for our physically challenged students by offering:
- the opportunity of availing of the help of a teaching assistant
- the opportunity of changing the form of participation in classes (e.g. by participation in a videoconference or increasing the permissible number of hours of absence from classes with the option of making up for them in a manner agreed with the teacher)
- possibility to change a given place / date of sitting exam
- extension of the time of examination / graded assignment.

Classes and exams take place in venues free of architectural barriers. On the premises of the University of Bielsko-Biala there are marked parking spaces, as well as appropriate facilities for wheelchairs: elevators (except for building "B"), thresholds, ramps, toilets adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. In addition, on the basis of an agreement between the University authorities and the Bielsko-Biała City Hall, students with physical disabilities are transported to and from the University.
The library facilities are adapted to the needs of the disabled. The Library and Reading Room are located on the ground floor of the L building. You can park your car near the entrance. The lack of thresholds and carpeting make it easier for people in wheelchairs to move around. On the ground floor, next to the reception desk, there is a toilet adapted for the disabled.

The Reading Room has a workstation for the disabled, provided with a 23-inch screen that enables easy enlargement of the text, a keyboard adapted for the blind and partially sighted (contrasting colours, capital letters and Braille characters), as well as headphones. IVONA Text-to-Speech software has also been installed.
The library has an on-line Prolib catalogue containing bibliographic descriptions of all collections available in the library. Books available at the Lending Department can be ordered remotely. In the university network, the Library's readers have access to full-text Polish and foreign-language databases. You can log in to the databases on the EBSCO platform from outside the university network. The access password can be obtained by the readers by phone from Monday to Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. (telephone number 33 82 79 272) or by sending a request to the following email address: biblioteka@ath.bielsko.pl. Disabled readers are served first. Library staff are available to assist in finding and delivering library materials. Authorised persons can collect books from the library on behalf of a disabled person. An appropriate document template can be downloaded from the Library website.
