Student Housing

<sup>The University of Bielsko-Biała offers you offers single, double and triple rooms in the Student Dormitory. Each room is equipped with a wardrobe, a table, a chair, a refrigerator and bed linen (to be changed every 3 weeks). Wi-Fi is included in the price.

Common spaces:
The spacious kitchens have two sinks, two slabs and they are fully equipped. Bathrooms are common for residents of 4 rooms. Every morning, special personnel cleans the common areas and corridors. A shared laundry room with two washing machines is available on the ground floor. There is a telephone on each floor.

Information for Erasmus+ students
The winter semester starts on 1st October. Checking in starts from 29th of September. 
The summer semester starts on 22nd of February. Checking in starts from 20th of February.
Note that number of rooms is limited. Do not delay the application process.

Method of Payment 
Accommodation can be paid for ATH cash desk (kasa) at Willowa 2, at the campus, the building B or at the post office (poczta).You can also pay at the dormitory’s administration office. Payment should be made in cash before the 15th day of each month.

Deposit 
At the beginning foreign students are asked to pay a refundable deposit for accommodation in the amount of about 150 PLN. The deposit will be returned to the students before their departure if there is no necessity to pay for any damage caused.

How to get to the dormitory from the main train station (Bielsko-Biała Główna) or from the main bus station
Bus number: 16 (direction: Wapienica Zapora)
From bus stop: Warszawska Dworzec
To bus stop: Cieszyńska Hulanka
 
You can buy tickets in the kiosk (next to the train station or at the bus stop) or from the bus driver. Please note that tickets bought from the bus driver are more expensive. Remember to clip your ticket in the bus.

This information is intended for international exchange students studying at the University of Bielsko-Biala under the Erasmus+ programme and bilateral agreements.

The latest update:

• Hotels
• Shopping malls
• Cinemas, theaters, operas, philharmonic halls, museums, galleries
• Sports facilities including gyms, fitness centers, swimming pools
• Ski slopes
• Restaurants (only take-out and delivery)

are closed until April 18, 2021.

The University of Bielsko-Biala continues distance teaching and learning mode until September 30, 2021.
This applys to all courses including specialist laboratories and exercises. Please check your mailbox at MS Teams for updates.

In order to ensure your safety, you should follow the key rules during the COVID-19 pandemic.
All students and employees are asked to follow the recommendations of the Chief Sanitary Inspector, especially:

•  covering the mouth and nose with a mask when going out
•  pubs and restaurants open for take-outs only
•  limitation of meetings, events
•  gyms and swimming pools remain closed
•  limited number of people in shopping malls and places of worship
•  limited number of people in public transport.

Cost of living

In this section, the approximate cost of living in Bielsko-Biala will be calculated.

Undoubtedly, the below mentioned cost of living will be somewhat averaged, as needs and desires vary depending on economic and social needs.

Accommodation:

The University provides a place in a comfortable and modern university dormitory, provided that the application is completed. (Please take a look at the "Accommodation" tab, which is at the top of the page).

Cost of living in the furnished rooms:
Place in a 3-bed room - 460 zł
Place in a 2-bed room - 490 zł
Place in the room for one - 530 zł

It is also necessary to make a deposit of PLN 150, which will be returned upon departure from the dormitory.

Movement:

There is a convenient transport network in the city (Please take a look at the "Life in Bielsko"). The cost of a student's one-month ticket for all bus lines costs 50 zł.

Food:

Bielsko-Biala food chains give a huge selection of products at low prices. A weekly balanced set of products (including dairy products, minced meat / chicken / other meats, certain types of vegetables) will cost 60/70 PLN. Thus, a monthly meal will cost the student from 300 to 550 zł, depending on preferences.

Social life:

The University and the Center of International Exchange always invite students to join free excursions and events. We are proud to announce that apart from traveling to Krakow, Zywiec and other nearby cities, we also carry out international trips.

However, if the student wants to lead an active life, visit restaurants, clubs and cinemas, then the calculation is given below.

The movie will cost 20/25 zł per session
Lunch in one of the best burgers cafe- up to 35 zł
Going to the club - from 40 zł
 

Thus, a student living in the University dormitory, having a balanced diet, as well as a leading social-active life, will spend 1200 zł per month. This amount is one of the lowest in Poland due to the attractive prices of the developing region.

Polish Intensive Language Course

The course covers 600 hours of lectures:
- 480 hours of Practical language course (view details),
- 60 hours of Polish culture, art and tradition (view details),
- 30 hours of The situation of Polish political and socio-economic background (view details),
- 30 hours of Interpersonal communication, self-presentation (view details).
 
The course costs 4 000 PLN for two semesters.

4. the recipients of your personal data will be: persons authorized by the Administrator to process data as part of performing their official duties, entities commissioned by the Administrator to perform activities that involve the need to process data (operator WebAnkieta.pl), entities authorized to obtain personal data on the basis of legal provisions,
5. your personal data will be stored for a period of 12 months in the Organiser's IT systems. Due to the nature of placing personal data in the form of an image in the media, the storage period is not specified;
6. you have the right to access the data content and rectify it, delete or limit processing, as well as the right to object, request to stop processing and transferring data, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time;
7. you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority;
8. providing personal data is voluntary, however, refusal to provide data may result in refusal to participate in the course;
